School Trip to Science Centre

Date:  Apr 28, 2012

I seldom miss their school outing.  No matter how tired I am after long trip from overseas, I still committed myself to join the school field trip.

Kay Kay is N1 class, so, parents can still come along.  This time is going to the Science Centre.  When the boy gets older, you can't even join them anymore.  :)

Your kids will remember, and enjoy every moment that you spent with him.  Kay start pointing here and there, and start to be talkative show me what he knows on the bus.

IMG_7233.jpg

Oh.. The sun is so shinny.  PaPa come quick!

This is Kay Kay's N1 class.  All line up looking at the cameras.  It is then you know that my son is the naugthy little fellow where he does not usually follow instructions in school.  Teachers starts talking now... hahaha

This is not the first time Kay Kay & Jay Jay visit Science Centre.  We been here couple of times at different age level.  We are even a Science Centre member, but I don't know where I misplaced the card.

P1030092.JPG

This is Kay Kay's packed lunch.  Wrapped with Thomas & Friends' bento cloth that we got from Japan.  Nice and neat.  And Cute too.

吃蕉!  (Eat Banana)

IMG_7243.JPG

Kay Kay is very picky on food.  But he does eat most of the food provided at school.

P1030106.JPG

Science Centre is really a good place where the kids can figure things out.  They may not get it right at the first time, but it helps them to remember that they seen it before.

IMG_7246.JPG

Looks complicated.  But the kids are having lots of fun with it.

P1030119.JPG

This is Gwen.  Her brother Riyandi is same age with Jay Jay.  Some times same class with Jay Jay.  Gwen was in Kay Kay's class last year.  The parents went to the same pre-natal class (during Boon's first pregnancy period) with us, deliver at the same Mt. Elizabeth, and Jay and Riyandi is only 1-2 weeks apart.  很有缘!

P1030124.JPG

This is Carina.  We always call her "NaNa".  She is in the same class with Kay Kay.  She is Kay Kay's good friend.

P1030126.JPG

Only today I learned about her Chinese Name.  沈佳颍.  (难道是九把刀的那些年里的沈佳宜的妹妹?)  We always heard this name from the teachers... "凯凯今天咬娜娜的手",“凯凯用玩具敲娜娜的头” (mostly not the good news), so we always made Kay Kay to say "Sorry" to NaNa after all these incidents.  HaHaHa  I will always make sure Kay Kay says "Sorry NaNa" and then, follow by a big hug to NaNa at school.

P1030127.JPG

As long as there are something that can turn... the kids will love it.

P1030112.JPG

Pa look!  I can pick my nose and walk on the board.

P1030139.JPG

Did he just pull the heavy log out?

P1030144.JPG

What is he pulling again?

P1030155.JPG

While waiting inside.  Nothing to do.  The kids are playing and having fun with a piece of cardboard.

P1030161.JPG

OK.  This is new.  This is what I call "In-App purchase".  Same same as Apple App mah.. Since when they start collect money inside the Science Centre?

P1030169.JPG

Oh... you can grab some free candies.

P1030174.JPG

Today, teacher is teaching Sweet Sour Bitter & spicy!

P1030191.JPG

Kay Kay's favorite.  He will just keep staring at those running balls.

P1030212.JPG

The teachers will let them try lemon, bitter tea, and now potato chips.  Kay saw it... "I want I want!"

P1030223.JPG

And guess what?  Its a Spicy Chips!  This is the first time, Kay Kay ate something that is so spicy!

P1030225.JPG

And he cries.... "Too spicy... papa" hahahahaha 贪吃的后果。

P1030226.JPG

Observing the wave pattern...

P1030305.JPG

Jay Jay also came back.  The K2 class was going to the different sector in Science Centre.  That is why I did not see Jay Jay many times there.  Well, he looks very happy!

P1030309.JPG

Another Visit to Science Centre (2011)

Date:  Nov 21, 2011

Usually, after their Lorna Whiston Concert, the teacher will take the following Monday off to go some where exotic to relax.  So, the parent will have to take leave and look after the kids on that day.

So, I brought Jay & Kay to Science Centre.

IMG_1071.jpg

Jay and Kay are very scared of the dinosaur.  Especially the one that can fly.  They keep turning their head back and trying to figure where does the "sounds" come out from.

IMG_1072.jpg

I think this could be their 3-5 visit to the Science Centre.  But each time, you can see how your kids' knowledge outgrew your expectation.

IMG_1075.jpg

Kay likes to push button and watch it spin.

IMG_1077.jpg

What a wonderful design.  You sit there, and the mirror simply added a hat, and a mustage on it.

IMG_1080.JPG

Ahhhh.... It is me, my head on the fruit plate.  (So says Kay)

IMG_1081.JPG

Looks nice and cute.

IMG_1087.JPG

Ok.  It's my turn.  Wait, who is taking this picture?  You got to be glad when your kid is old enough to handle the camera and iPhone to take photos.

IMG_1085.JPG

Always amaze with the tornado.

IMG_1089.jpg

Things that generate sounds!

IMG_1090.jpg

This aparatus generate wave patterns.

IMG_1092.jpg

The metalic grass dance with different tempo from the music.

IMG_1094.jpg

The studio is poor, so, they found 4 kids to help them do the sound effect.  This is taken from the sound effect room.  Hey, Jay Jay's class mates Wardan Tan is here too.

IMG_1097.jpg

So, you look at the silent movie, and try to create sounds for the silent movie.  It is fun!

IMG_1099.jpg

Another sounds experiment!

IMG_1102.jpg

Dry ice + water = galaxy milky way

IMG_1104.jpg

Both Jay & Jay drawing their butterfly.

IMG_1106.jpg

This is Kay's butterfly.

IMG_1107.jpg

Jay:  This is mine.

IMG_1110.jpg

Do you like Kay's butterfly?

IMG_1113.jpg

I think mine is better!

IMG_1114.jpg

The kids always love to follow the steel balls.

IMG_1115.jpg

Kay certainly loves the knob to turn turn turn!

IMG_1116.jpg

His eyes are very sharp and can follow the ball up and down.

IMG_1118.jpg

Jay Jay also love this station.  They can spent 30 minutes, and you simply can rest and relax for a while.

IMG_1120.jpg

The caligraphy master is in work again!

IMG_1123.jpg

HaHaHa... so many Jay and Kay...

IMG_1124.jpg

How about that?  Playing the spinning plate.

IMG_1125.JPG

I can do it too.

IMG_1128.jpg

No.  I said, I can do TWO!

IMG_1130.jpg

Opssss.... going to fall, going to fall...

IMG_1129.jpg

Exiting, we visit the store.  And I was shocked to see this... S$44 for this toy.

IMG_1134.jpg

And this 6 in 1 too... S$42

IMG_1135.jpg

It was a fun day for Daddy and the two kids.

Everytime when you go to Science Centre, remember to observe your kids. Look at what they are focusing on.  It is easy to find out what is their interest.  And whether or not they will become a science student or not.  :)  Also, every time, they become mature and ask more complicated questions too!
