Lego Land Visit (2015)

Date: June 27, 2015

On the Father’s Day, I suggested the kids to "bring me” the big kid to Legoland.  And both Jay and Kay are so happy.

Half an hour later, we arrived at Legoland.

 

It shall be the first time where both Jay and Kay are driving the Lego cars on the same road with traffic lights.

He is so happy about it.  And he has a driving license.  HaHaHa...

There is always lots of things for the boys to do.

Perhaps one the main attractions this time is the Earth Quake machine.  They spent quite some time here to build the building that can withstand the strongest earth quake.

They aim is to build the tallest and stable building.

This is my design.  I thought may be do something that has a hole in the middle will be challenging.  But I did not expect that it last so long.

So I decided to build it even taller.  Seems the theory sounds very solid.  And it was completely destroyed.

On the other hand, Jay and mommy build a similar one, stealing the idea from Kay and myself.  But they placed the middle stabilising pillar.  Looks very promising.

And it really did not drop.

But the second time they make the quake, it was destroyed.  HaHaHaHa!

You can tell the kids were having lots of fun!

Kay has grown up.  He becomes more gutsy!  He likes the roller coaster.  So, we sat 5 times on the Big dragon.  We did not even bother to go for the smaller dragon ride.

We sat in the middle, we sat at the dragon head, we sat at the tail, etc etc.  He just love it!

Ayo…. I sit until I want to vomit.  hahaha

Kids enjoy Robotics.

And he really grew up.  He is more than 110cm now, and are able to sit in most of the rides.

And we sit in this Techniq for 5 times too.  Hahahahahaha.  Really feel like vomiting.  HaHaHa

So, after 3 years.  Legoland is still my kids’ #1 choice of theme park.  The reason is the queue is shorter than others.

But as they slowly grew up, they will have lesser things to sit.

So, while they still young, let them go more times and enjoy the park!

Kay & Lego Driving School

Kids are like that.  Very funny sometimes, very unique.

You think that all kids love driving cars.  But not all.

My Kay Kay is one of the rare one that does not like driving cars. (before he gets his first Lego driving license)

I have no idea why he “hates” driving kids car.  But let’s see what we can do to change that.

Hey Kay Kay… See.  If you drive the car today, you can get a Lego Driving license.

Your Ko Ko (Jay Jay) has two.  And you have have how many?  (Zero).

That will motivates him a bit.

First, choose the car correctly.  Choose the one that is way out from other cars.  So that when all the kids start the cars, they don’t bang into each other.

I recall, 2 years ago, Kay Kay must be feeling bad, sitting in the same car, and don’t know how to operate, while he sees his friends driving the cars happily.  And furthermore, I recall his car got stuccoed and he did not know how to move it at all.  And some of other kids bang into his car.

Like that, he has a “bad memory” about driving Lego cars in Legoland.

So, this time, we shall not make that mistake again.

And very luckily, he is the leader in this “slow” car race.

Be there at all time, guide him.  How to turn at the corner.  And so on.

Like that, he finished first.  And he is very proud.  He get more proud when I bring him to take his driving license.

Kay Kay received his picture driving license.

He is very happy about receiving the driving license.

Then, when you asked him “Let’s drive again?"

He says “Yes Yes Yes”.

Some thoughts...

1.  Sometimes parents are busy, and we are not observing that our kids are in trouble.  This is a simple example.  Lego driving school has a junior car and the kids car.  Junior car is for kids that is 3-5 years old.  You think it is a simple thing to ride a car?  Your kid may not think so.  

2.  When the kids don’t think driving a kids car is fun, sometimes, we have to find out what is going on.  All kids should love driving cars.  Why my kid is different.

3.  I quickly pulled out the photos where Kay Kay went to Legoland the first time with 18 of Jay’s friends.  Then, I quickly understand.

4.  Kay Kay is afraid of driving because, he did not get to drive properly the first time.  Other kids are banging into his car.  His car is not moving.  And all these make him sad.  And he develops a certain “fear” in driving kids car.

5.  Once you understand the cause.  It will be easy to fix it.

6.  Luckily, now they offer photo driving license for the young kids too.  So, create a diversion, make getting the photo driving license as a target (not driving the car), and ask him to try again.  Make sure he choose the correct car.  If not, ask the people there to move his car to more open space.  Make sure to provide guidance all the way.  

7.  Like that it makes him happy and it makes him “normal” just like any other kids.

8.  But most of the time, the problem is not that simple.  So, the most important thing is to be patient, be observant, and try our best to help our kids.  Be there for them, love them, and understand them.

 

Star Wars Miniland

We didn’t know it was the opening for Star Wars Miniland.  

But we were lucky to be there.

Every kids will get a pack of Adventure Kids.

You need to finish all the activity paper in it and you get a price from Legoland.

At the entrance there are three iconic figures.  Dart Vadar.

Here are the lovely duo - CP30 & R2D2.

When you enter, they show you a short movie of Jar Jar Bings run into 6 Star Wars movies scenes and being hunted by Boba Fett.  It is very funny, quite entertaining Lego Star Wars short film.  “Bombad Bounty"

Battle of Naboo.

Very big Millennium Falcon.

The engine and thruster got lights too.

Imperial armies are attacking the shield generators.  See that small little Luke Skywalker trying to bomb the AT-AT?

The rebels is going to take over this place soon.

The Star Wars Miniland is just Star Wars made by Lego Bricks.  If you grew up with Star Wars, you will love it.
