As years passes by, our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt, poison, and any unwanted items from entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates and it needs to undergo cleaning treatments.
多年來我們的腎臟過濾血液,排除進入我們的身體的鹽,毒素及任何不
需要的物質。隨著時日,鹽毒積累,必須進行清潔處理。

How are we going to do this?
我們要怎樣做呢?

It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley and wash it clean .
非常容易,首先拿一把荷蘭芹,洗乾淨。

Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.
切成小塊,放在鍋子裡,注入乾淨的水煮10分鐘,冷卻後過濾到一個
乾淨的瓶子存放冰箱。

Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated poison
coming out of your kidney by urination. Also you will be able to notice the
difference which you never felt before.

Will I buy an iPad2?

Will I buy an iPad2?

IMG_5169.JPG

For the first time, you will surprise to learn that I may not buy this Apple product.

Why?  I don't see any reason for me to throw away my 2 iPads and get new one.

Reason #1:  Yes, its thinner and lighter.  But it is only 16% lighter.

Reason #2:  Yes, it has camera on it.  But I don't do a lot of facetime.

Reason #3:  My iPad now can run Garage Band too.  I think it is fast enough to run it.

Are you sure?  Ken is not going to get iPad2?

Well, let's wait and see.  The truth is...

I asked Larry to buy for me 2 units last week.  Unfortunately, I was 4 hours late.  (Yes, on the first day it available in US).  The delivery has changed from 3 days to 3 weeks.  And the checking routines starts to reject PO.Box address.  And my order was rejected.  So, Larry got his 2 units and mine was rejected.  So, it is fate that I believe, if I want it and somehow I did not get it, I should not go for it.

Ha Ha Ha... Let's wait and see.

Kite Museum @ Pasir Gudang

Date: Mar 26, 2011

After visited my dad's grave, we stopped by the Museum Layang Layang (Kite) on the way home.

IMG_5222.jpg

This place is somehow quite windy.  And the scenery is very nice too.IMG_5226.JPG

That is the museum.  The windmill actually power up some lights in there.  You got to take off your shoes to go in.  It is RM2 for adult and RM1 for kids > 5 years old.  It is a good place to explain to kids how kite was made.

IMG_5227.jpg

Kay Kay was very excited to visit this museum.  So as Jay Jay.  Look at the big smile on both of their face.

IMG_5229.JPG

The kites looks very beautiful.

IMG_5231.JPG

These are the different shapes and faces of kites around the world.

IMG_5232.jpg

Look closer to the kite, all these are layering technique by gluing the colored paper piece by piece.

IMG_5237.jpg

You can draw the pattern and then you cut the colored paper piece by piece and glu it onto the kite.

IMG_5238.jpg

You need a lot of patient to make one kite.  It takes about 3-6 weeks to complete one.

IMG_5233.JPG

Wow, lots of colorful kites hanging there.

IMG_5239.jpg

Jay Jay specially love this one as there is a Japan flag on it.  hahaha

Qing Ming 2011 (清明)

Date: Mar 26, 2011

It's about 22 years that my dad has passed away.  After that, I spent 7 years in Canada to reform myself, and then come back to Singapore and work for 15 years.

He will be glad to know that his two grandson is doing well too.  Although never seen his Ye-Ye (爷爷) before, Jay helps to clean the tomb.

IMG_5213.jpg

Little Kay also smile smile at the grand father too.  This year we put a heaven bird flower there too.  My mom explains why my dad's tomb are not fully covered, and have a hole there with soil.  That is because my grandma wanted my dad to be able to brief the air outside.  That is why over the years, we constantly put more soil and rocks in there at the middle.

IMG_5202.JPG

That's my boy.  Clean away those grass too.  My Jay Jay has grown up to become a very helpful boy in the family.

IMG_5216.jpg

Bye... See you next year, dad.

Singtel Bridge Mobile Roaming Service

Date: Mar 24, 2011

Recently SingTel has changed their offering.  Now they offer unlimited 1 day, 3 days or 5 days.  A 3 days package is S$38, a 5 days package is S$54.  So, it is average of <$14 a day now.

To subscribe to SingTel Bridge Mobile, send "*7626" to 3333.  And then answer back a series of SMS.  But before you go to these countries make sure you know who is SingTel partner in that country, and then set your phone to manual select the carrier.  For example MAXIS for Malaysia.  Also, when you come back to Singapore, DO NOT FORGET to TURN OFF the data roaming on your iPhone.

This is one of the fantastic thing you can do.  Use the GPS on Google Maps to direct your taxi driver to the destination in KL.  you need the 3G to download the maps.

Garden Hotel @ Mid-Valley

Date: Mar 23, 2011

Screen shot 2011 03 23 at AM 12 10 15

Most of the time, I try to stay in Hilton @ KL Sentral.  But a bit pai-seh always have to trouble my friend to book his corporate rate.  Yes, the corporate rate is really cheap, but most of the time, Hilton is full.

It is last month that I checked into this Garden Hotel @ Mid Valley.  Here are some of the surprises:

1.  The WHOLE hotel is NON-SMOKING.  I like!  No wonder always can book a room online.  Because smoker will not be able to smoke there, so they will rather not stay there.

2.  The key card is made of recycle material.  So, the hotel is very green.  But this trip, they added in those hard key card (non recycle material).  The staff there claims that this hard key card is even more expensive and they run out of the recycle key cards.

3.  The room is very clean, and feels like staying in Le Meridien or Hilton.  The hotel is a very new hotel.

Room20101109145140578

4.  You have to book thru their hotel booking reservation system (online).  It will be cheaper.  Since I have already clock in almost 10 days stays.  I am asking for hotel corporate rate.  See how much cheaper I can get.  From the website, you can book RM348 or RM328 (peak or non-peak) per day.

5.  Its at Mid-Valley.  Shopping, eating and cinema, etc.  If you don't book the breakfast, you can eat at the Breadtalk there by the Boulevard Hotel.  The breakfast deal, Nasi Lemak is really good.

6.  It is close to KL Sentral, close to Telekom Malaysia, close to Subang Airport, etc.  Very convenient.  If you don't mind taking the community train, 1 stop to KL Sentral.

7.  Places to eat.  Lots of it.  My recommendation Canton-i for the Char Siew and then Yam-Tin-Tong for the Gui-Ling-Gao.  There are lots of places to eat at Mid Valley.

So, this will be my default hotel stay in KL.  They also have the Garden Residency where they have 1 room or 2 room suites available.

Have a good trip to KL.

Air Asia - The New 4 Hours Booking Service

Date:  Mar 21, 2011

The time is 5PM.  I need to make an urgent trip to Malaysia the next day.  So, as expected, my favorite Jetstar is full or not allow you to place booking.  The same goes to Firefly, where I have to call the call center to place booking.

Screen shot 2011 03 23 at AM 12 02 13

I never like to fly to LCCT (Malaysia Budget Airport), but since my business partner is going to pick me up there, I don't mind.  All I scare is I cannot book online.  So, when I see this message where Air Asia now allows you to do online booking even as late as 4 hours before the flights, It was a relieve to me.  So, within 5min, I done with my booking.

I think the rest of the budget airline, must look at this and follow, in order to be competitive!  Score 1 point for Air Asia!

Fun with Jay & Kay - March 2011

Date: Between Mar 1 - Mar 15, 2011

Because of the 18 pots of new orchids we acquired during Chinese New Year, the balcony is full of living things...  So, my poor swing has to be relocated into my study room.  When we designed the place, we already thought it will one day come into the study room.  HaHa...

IMG_4744.JPG

It is Kay Kay's first MRT trip.  So, I parked my car at Vivo city, while Mommy go and do groceries with auntie Lorna, I brought the kids to sit on the MRT.

IMG_4747.jpg

I think Kay Kay loves it!  He loves to sit at the reserved seat!

IMG_4748.JPG

We only sit to Central station.  And surprisingly we found a Lightning McQueen there too.  We saw that in Jurong Point, and now there is another one at the Central @ Clarke Quay.

IMG_4754.jpg

Its Jay Jay favorite!

IMG_4752.jpg

Yes, Kay Kay, you have grown up, please help us to push your own stroller.

IMG_4760.jpg

Jay Jay spotted an Angry Bird ...

IMG_4761.jpg

There is a new Spider Boy in town...

IMG_4762.JPG

Kay Kay, wait there for a while, while we unload all the groceries...

IMG_4728.jpg

Mommy with headset (doing teleconference at home)... hahahaha... that round round solid circle is the belly button... hahaha

IMG_4723.JPG

Surprisingly his desire of learning music/violin is strong.

IMG_4716.jpg

We saw this Lightning McQueen at Jurong Point when me and Jay Jay go get breakfast for the family...

IMG_4683.JPG

Its cool to build train tracks together with your son.

Screen shot 2011-03-20 at PM 09.14.28.png

Why I buy a Ukulele?  Well, its for this purpose.  haHa...

IMG_4654.jpg

Auntie Lilian came to our house for a week stay, and she gave the boys each a T-Shirts...  Well fit!

IMG_0663.jpg

That's all... Always think of new things to play with your kids... so that when they grow up  they have a wonderful childhood...

The Internet Pioneers - Reunion

Date: Mar 9, 2011

Back in the old days, after the "TechNet" era, this is the team of systems engineers in Pacific Internet.  It was those days where we build fantastic modem pools to cater to 100K+ users, where we offer a single email domain @pacific.net.sg to users, where we handle 1/3 of the national caching servers farm (buying parts from Sim Lim Square) that shocks the US/European caching scientist, where we build solid web services and run one of the finest IRC services in Singapore.  Photo took back in 1996.

1997-engineering00.jpg

After 15 later, we have a reunion dinner that day.  And surprisingly we are looks the same after all these years.  Somehow the organizer (JC) unable to contact Soo Khim, so, Soo Khim is not with us that night.  Kok Hoou who is the real pioneer since TechNet days are with us (the one beside me).

193799_10150109190727632_579002631_6398924_4867575_o.jpg

We have a great meal at this West Coast Cozy Restaurant who has great Curry Fish head.  After eating the first pot, we ordered the 2nd pot, as it tasted so good.

IMG_4894.jpg

And almost at the end of the dinner, our boss Hock Koon (Left 1) finally showed up.

IMG_4898.JPG

We chit chat of old, new and future.  Have to continue our chat at the Starbucks and chit chat until they close shop.  Until the security guard come and telling us when the main carpark door will be closing.  It was a great night, and lots of memory has be reminded that day.

Where are they now:

Wong Kok Hoou now is in M1 making a difference there.

Stacy Chua - She went back to NUS and still stuck in NUS.

Tan Jin Siong - still in PacNet (of course, the ANC-Pacific Internet merger PacNet).  In fact it is his 15 years in PacNet that day.

Lawrence Goh - doing volunteering job counseling the married, the divorce, the young, etc.

Chan JC - back to PacNet and still stuck there with Jin Siong.

Ivan Leong - back to PacNet and still stuck there with Jin Siong.

Hock Koon & myself are together trying to make a difference in Indonesia/Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand network.

There will be more meetings to come.  Our dear CEO Nicholas Lee will be in town for 2 weeks Mar 17.  So, I think there will be at least a few gatherings too.

OpenNet Installation

Date: March 11, 2011

OpenNet guy come to install the OpenNet Fiber at my place.

IMG_4905.jpg

As I do not allow them to come thru my front door, they can only poke a small hole at the back door behind the kitchen.  And they run the ugly cabling at the back door.

IMG_4906.jpg

The installers are very kia-su, and write all these sentenses saying that owner instruct them to install at the kitchen area.  Their supervisor at first rejected it.  Claimed that they don't allow it to install at the kitchen.  After a few minutes argument, that area by the back door is called "store room" instead of kitchen.  And they are fine with that!

IMG_4908.JPG

See the attachment diagram... its call a "store room" beside the kitchen.  and I have to put my signature there to verify that I asked them to do so.

IMG_4909.JPG

From the riser, they run the cable to the back door.  Very ugly.  Poke a hole there, and the fiber went into my apartment.

IMG_4910.JPG

This equipment is called a "Splicer".  Basically, you cut the fiber for both side, and use alcohol to clean it, carefully placed into the splicer, the splicer will automatically join the fiber for you.  Its MAGIC!

IMG_4915.jpg

See the splicer in action.  On the monitor, you can see the two fiber joining together by the splicer.

IMG_4920.JPG

After that, they just wrap the cable around and that's it.  I will have to wait 1 month time for them to verify all installation within the estate are completed.  And then we can call up any RSP to install the Internet via the fiber.

IMG_4921.JPG

Let's wait and see if now my MIO TV can be run via the fiber.

Cameron Highlands (3): Picking Strawberries

Date: Mar 13, 2011

Today we are going to pick strawberries.  Make sure your kid has proper cloth as its going to be a bit cold...

IMG_5042.JPG

This is where we going to pick strawberries.  Taman Agro Town.  It is at Brinchang.  On top of a hill.  The slope is extremely incline.  It is just above the Cactus Garden.

IMG_5076.JPG

This is something new, and I had never been to this place before.  First thing you see is the Vegefarm.

IMG_5059.JPG

So, to go inside, you need to buy or pick at least 1/2 of basket.  And each baskets is 2 adults and 1 kid.  They say kid must be 10 years old and above.  But who cares.  4 years old, 3 years old also go in la.

IMG_5069.jpg

Each basket comes with 2 pairs of scissors.  For you to cut the strawberries.

IMG_5060.jpg

Tips for strawberries picking.  Although you see a lot of strawberries hanging outside, do not forget to check the one that is inside or bottom of the pots, all the extra huge one are there...

IMG_5066.jpg

Wait a minute, could this be the lucky four leafplants?  Wow, most are really 3 leaf.

IMG_5070.jpg

Ah yes!  Make sure you make your kids do the work!  Going in there ain't cheap at all.  So, make sure they pick the strawberries and even Kay Kay must help out too.

IMG_5074.jpg

It is in this sort of places where your kid will really grow up with knowledge how butterflies mate the flowers and how flowers becomes real fruits!  Flower become small green strawberry then become bigger and then become red strawberries.  Easy to tell the story while seeing the real thing.

IMG_5075.jpg

If got the opportunity, bring all the siblings along.  Jay's cousins are all there.  Hi Gabriel and Caleb.  Why Gabriel so grumpy?

IMG_4777.JPG

The picking garden is really big.  And it is enough to house a lot of people there.  Look at Boon Ching, so happy!

IMG_4779.JPG

Kay Kay is enjoying himself.  大丰收!

IMG_4800.JPG

The How's brothers also picked a lot of strawberries!  OK.  3 baskets, weight 2.5KG all together.  And its RM85.  WOW!  (Jaw drops).  But we had a lot of fun, the kids learned a lot of educations.  It is worth it!

IMG_4803.JPG

Don't forget to take picture with the big strawberries!

IMG_4821.JPG

That night.  We tabao back and cook some food at the rented apartment.  It is nice cool weather.  And the next morning, 4AM, we are on the way back to Singapore.  This time, we took the Tapah route.  Thinking that there is no traffic.  But we regret it.  As the road condition is so bad, the road is so winding, and all the passenger except the driver throw up!  hahahahaha
