Bean Sprouts Machine 豆芽机

Date:  Sep 17, 2012

It's Amazing!

We must be too boring at home, nothing to do.  HaHaHaHa

We now grow our own bean sprouts.  We wanted to grow the best bean sprouts just like the one from Ipoh 芽菜鸡.

Introducing the Bean Sprout Machine!  Guarantee 3 days grow your bean sprouts!

First, put water in here.  We put the Diamond water.

Next evenly place the green beans on the growing pan.

The steps are pretty easy!

IMG 1462

Plug in the electricity.  The bean sprouts machine will grow the bean sprouts in the controlled environment.  Also, covered it too to prevent the sunlight disrupting the growing process.

A day later.  You can see that the bean sprouts growing.

3 Days later.  Let's uncover it.  See how our sprout is doing.

You can see that a lot of water vapours inside.

IMG 1626

The water evaporates and then drop down to the top plate water collector.  Underneath are the bean sprouts.  The cover actually prevents the bean sprouts to grow thin, instead, the beans will grow fatter under the cover pressure.  It is a patented technology.  Later you take a look at their web site.

These are the bean sprouts.

It is OK fat.  Not too long, just nice.

You can actually eat this uncook, as it is grown under a very clean environment.  Its actually organic!  The taste is very sweet and crunchy.  So, first thing come to my mind is Ipoh's Bean Sprout Chicken.

Jay Jay loves it.  He never seen so much bean sprouts grown before.

The root gown at the bottom of the growing pan.

IMG 1642

It is just nice!  Why?  because you can use a knife to cut away the roots easily.  HaHaHaHa

IMG 1650

We harvested almost 1KG of bean sprouts.  Time to look up the recipe how to cook bean sprouts.

Btw, I bought this from Taobao.  I bought it when there are promotion, RMB198, which is roughly about S$40.

OK.  After you watch the video, then, you notice that their bean sprouts is about 3-4 inch long.  WHY?  That is why I said, we grew an OK bean sprout.  So, we concluded that we forgot to do the following.

Step 1.  Use warm water to soak the green beans 1-2 minutes.

Step 2.  Use cold water to soak the green beans for 6-8 hours.

Now I know why eating in China must sometimes be cautions.

Some bad farmers use some animal medicine to bleach the bean sprouts.  HaHa

I am sure this won't happen in Malaysia and Singapore.
