Date: Sep 1, 2011
Spent 1 hour at the Comex @ Suntec yesterday in between meetings. The only thing I can remember about Comex 2011 is this ... Saw a few kids sitting down by the escalator unboxing their new HP TouchPad, I just greet them "Congrats!" They looked at me smile and feel proud.
HP is letting go 200 units of TouchPad at a price of $126 (16GB) & $201 (32GB). And I believe it is all sold out by the time I went there. So, why people go for a discontinue product? Very simple reason. Look around, when you buy a photo frame, it cost you about may be $150 to $250 for a 4GB or 8GB version. So, this TouchPad will make a good photo frame. And by the way, it can play music. And by the way, you can surf the net with it. Isn't this very familiar? This is a hard disk storage. Oh, by the way, it can play MP3 music. (This is not a MP3 Player).
So, what else you can buy from there? I like to walk those small little shops. And I saw this.
I bought this USB keyboard (for my wife) that looks exactly like Apple keyboard. She now wants me to get her another today for her office use. She was frustrated with a Logitech keyboard he bought that comes only with a PS2 connector that she bought few days ago.
Comex is a time where on facebook, you will see lots of discussion about new wishlist, gadgets, etc. And sometimes, you see friend's wife will make some noise, trying to stop a certain event from happening.
<--- His wife said "NoooooOOOOOO!"
This not only happens to wife, it also happen to husband. Trying desperately stopping the wife from buying expensive gadgets. What EOS 600???
OK... The fuinniest thing I see improvement this Comex is.... The YELLOW LINE. Did you see all the banks promoters standing behind the yellow line distributing the brochures? Funny!
Here is another pictures about them standing behind the yellow line. So, inside the show, when there are all these banks promoters come up to me to sign me up for their credit cards, the first sentense out from my mouth is "Where is the Yellow Line?? Stand behind it. Don't come near me." LOL
As usual, you take some photos with pretty girls too. And you try to FRAME IT here too. Here is a nice frame you can use. HaHa LOL.
No come to read about it... now I understand what is the NOOOO FACE Campaign. It is from this Trend Micro booth. I think instead of saying "NOOOOO" to viruses. It should be "How your wife, husband, boy friend and girl friend say NOOOOO to you at Comex" Campaign. More funnier. HaHa LOL.
Not really sure what they are selling beside Anti-Virus. Cloud Security? But got pretty face, and nice booth, and FREE COKE! People will come.
hahahaha See I took another photo with the promoter.
WAIT A MINUTE .... Free iPad2. What the hack. Jay Jay come here take photo... (few minutes later) Done. The face detector program sucks! Cannot detect a lot of photos. Not sure what is the algorithm behind.
Finally done!
As you can see, the program detected this photos but not the following...
But this will just do fine. Jay Jay, cross your finger to see if you can win an iPad2 for yourself.
