Date:  Oct 27, 2011

Wine for Asia is here.

What I did is to register at the Wine for Asia counter as a TRADER (Visitor).  And I got a pass.  Of course, when they talk to you, please be intelligent, say that you are looking forward to setup restaurant or so, etc.  :)

OK.  Every exibitor will have some wines for you to taste.

Even the wine glass vendor also have wines for you to taste.  This Chile white wine is quite pleasant to drink.

But the best best event is to attend the seminars.  I missed Karen's Austarlia wine session.  But I am able to make it to the Bordeaux one.

This is in the Bordeaux Wine Master Class.  There is a moderator, Chng Poh Tiong sitting at the far left.  And then, there are five different Bordeaux vinyard owner or wine maker introducing their wine.  All the wine in this tasting session are all top wines from Bordeaux in 2007.

Every glass is sitting on the name of the wine.  And you simply just taste one by one.

IMG_0487.jpg

This is the first wine I drank.

IMG_0488.jpg

Is a Pessac-Leognan.  And it is selling US$55 in US market.

IMG_0495.PNG

I think Chateau Figeac 2007 is one of the most expensive on the list... selling for $99.99

IMG_0491.jpg

Not too bad taste for a Saint Emilion wine.

IMG_0493.PNG

Now, this is the most expensive one.

IMG_0504.jpg

It is US$117.

IMG_0496.PNG

I really enjoy all the nine wines presented in the Bordeaux Wine Master Class.

IMG_0505.JPG

OK.  It's time to finish all, compare again all the different wine taste.

IMG_0507.jpg

Chng Poh Tiong remembered to thank those who pour the wine for us.  Excellent job.

IMG_0509.jpg

Here are all the wines... By the way, most of them are Grand Cru Classe or Premier Cru Classe, First growth or second growth.  :)  That is why I think it is very worth it.  I don't recall I paid anything.  :)

IMG_0519.jpgIMG_0520.jpg

Really nice.

IMG_0510.jpg

Next, we went for the Italy Wine Master Class.

IMG_0522.jpg

This is Malcolm, he is one of the organizers.  He is also my teacher in the Business, Art and Science of Wine @ Singapore Poly.  A 10 week course that I have taken recently.

IMG_0524.jpg

Again, there are nine wines for us to taste.  But the wine order are not following the numeric orders.

IMG_0523.jpg

Again, you smell, you taste the wine.

IMG_0531.jpg

And then look at the terroir of the wine, how they produce and make this wine.

IMG_0536.jpg

Then, the tasting notes by the moderator.

IMG_0537.jpg

OK.  These people just drink the wine straight, unlike the Bordeaux one, they don't need clear water to rinse their palete.  hahaha See, no water on their table.

IMG_0557.jpg

The Italy one, features a lot of grapes variety.

IMG_0565.jpg

This one, I wanted to mention it, because, this wine is not available else where, you only can drink it here, and it is unlikely you going to drink this again.  As this is very good Sangiovesa wine, and they only keep it for friends.

IMG_0541.jpg

Again, at the end of the Master Class, you felt so relaxing and so good.

IMG_0565.jpg

Luckily my wive cook Vinegar Port Leg soup at home.  I had 3 bowls of mee sua tonight.  :)  and ya... she pour me my 22nd wine of the day.
