We order some durians again… This is the Mao Shan Wang… Very nice and creamy and bitter bitter…  Yesterday the price was S$13 per KG.  Ah Hock usually will deliver only for durian orders that is > 10KG.

 IMG 7514

If will be good to ask Ah Hock to deliver earlier… because you get to choose the best one.  If it is the last delivery, of course, all the good one has been chosen.

So, yesterday, when we called Ah Hock, he said, “I am just around here, will reach your place in 10min time, then, you better say yes.  Hahaha.. almost all the durian are nice!

IMG 7695

And this is the durian for tonight’s first CNY party.

IMG 7697

Here is Ah Hock's name card again.  Now, he has to rush to deliver the remaining durians to a Durian party.

We have been using him for many years.  The durian quality is good.  What do you think?  When the durian lorry came into Singapore, it stop at Woodland, and this guy gets to pick the one he wants.  And then, he deliver it to anywhere there is a durian party.

I think I better cook lesser food today.  Wahahaha

Durian & The Metallic Soap

Date: June 26, 2011

I will introduce another method to wash away the durian smell on your fingers.

Tonight dinner is durian.

IMG_7573.jpg

Boon Ching loves to eat durian.

IMG_7577.JPG

Jay Jay only eat 1-2 pieces of durian, and he has to eat the sweet one.

IMG_7578.JPG

Kay Kay just hold it in his hand and eat a bit too.

IMG_7582.jpg

OK.  After you eat the durian, what can you do to get rid of the smell???

Of course, you can use the durian shell to rinse the water over the shell and wash your hand with it.  Not sure why, but it does work.

Today, I am going to introduce you another method.  More expensive one, but also works.

IMG_7615.JPG

Another look.  Does look like a soap.

IMG_7616.JPG

This is a metal soap.

Read for your self.

and it works!

Durian @ 717

Date:  April 24, 2011

The gang went to watch 881 @ Espanade.  The show was very entertaining, and don't worry, if you only knew a few lines of Hokkien swearing words, there are English subtitle on both side of the stage.  And my only comment is "HaHaHaHaHahaHa" those three Fu, Lu & Shou are really funny!

After the show, hungry and we end up at Highland Centre.  There is 717 Durian with all the seating area for you to eat durians.

We went there around 11:30pm.  And it is the time where they started to wrap all things and clean all mess.  We managed to get hold of 4 boxes.  Later the 7-Series BMW bought every single box from them.  I think these 4 boxes is enough for our craving for the night.

IMG_5746.jpg

It's really been a long time we last eat durian together.  And everybody enjoys it.

IMG_5756.JPG

When you see a Chiong-Sam lady eating with plastics gloves, then you thought about the 881 that we saw just a moment ago.  HahaHahaHahhahahaha

IMG_5752.jpg

Oh No.  Not only Melissa, Laurel and Amanda too.  HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa

IMG_5755.JPG

We enjoy the durian place, although there are no more red prawns, mountain cat, green bambo, etc etc.  The D24 is just nice and we all enjoy the night talking about every single details of the 881 stage performance...

The Durian Dinner

The sky was dark and cloudy. Rain came. A bit cold.

So, we decided to buy durian from thIs new place. I have eaten twice there, and I found the durian quality is very good, and best of all, it is very cheap in my opinion. I used to buy from 711 or Demsey Rd, so, you can imagine the price of eating durian is usually high.

This is a stall just beside Geylang Lorong 36. The owner called himself 笑佛 (laughing Buddha), and he has a durian orchard near Pontian Malaysia. He is very proud of his durian, and called it 笑佛 too.

We bought 3x 笑佛 and 2x 猫山王, and it cost us only $40!

The durians comes either very bitter, or sweet bitter. The meat is really thick. The shell is thin, so as the seeds. But the overall texture is very nice.

Even my baby Kay loves it. And he kept on licking mummy's finger for the after taste... Of durian...

Of course don't forget to use this steel soap to wash your stinky hand. It magically removed the durian smell from your fingers. It was a gift from a friend (thanks Edwin).

Don't forget the queen of food too. Cool down the heat from these durians... Hope I have open up your craving for Durians.. Go get it now...
