Date: Mar 10, 2012

I had never been to a drive in movie before.  Got to thanks Peugeot for giving me such a good time yesterday!  We drove our white peugeot there.

Apparently, later I found out that it is a 2-days event, organized by Gold FM90.5, and the first day is EXCLUSIVELY for Peugeot cars only.

I love Peugeot.

IMG_4871.JPG

The venue is an open field near Nicoll Highway.

IMG_4872.JPG

You must have a sticker/decal indicating the correct date in order to go to this event.

It's raining.  Oh, they are showing THOR, which I have not seen it yet!

IMG_4873.JPG

Jay Jay loves this event, as he saw a lot a lot of Peugeot cars.

That is the big screen, not too bad, not too small, not too far.  So, later, we just tune into FM100.30 to listen to the audio.

Almost all the models are here.

This is where we park our spot.  A nice gap in between to watch the movie.

Lot's of convertables.  Looks very chio, but it is less power than the 508.

The most unique car plate.  My friend, Larry taught me this.  AutoFrance is going to pay $60 plus to get your license plate done.  Why do you want to let AutoFrance to put their "Advertisement" on the car.  So, you have all the rights to ask them to put your name, or anything you want to say on the car plate.  It is the same $60 they going to pay to make the car plate anyway.

P1010504.JPG

So, ever since, I have requested them to print our names on the car plates.  HaHaHaHa... This is our the other car plate.

A drama happened earlier.  This ice truck got stuck in the mud.  So, it needs a toll truck to come and rescue them.

IMG_4889.jpg

10 minutes later, this tow truck come to the rescue.  But as and when it turn into the rescue position, the tow truck got stuck as well in the mud.

IMG_4890.jpg

So, a second tow truck came 10 minutes later to come to rescue.  And the people now figure out where is the dry land and rescued both truck that got stucked!

IMG_4900.jpg

It is so funny, when you sit thru and watch the whole drama.

IMG_4902.JPG

OK.  Hungry!  Eating time.

IMG_4894.jpg

Oh ya.  Enjoying your chips ya!

IMG_4896.jpg

Lucky draw, and I won $100 AutoFrance maintenance servicing vouchers.  All three lucky draws are the same price.  WOW.  How lucky!  But why my number not out in 4D?

IMG_4912.jpg

Sky getting darker!  The show is on.

IMG_4911.jpg

OK.  How to turn off the lights completely?  I have to seek help from another Peugeot driver who drives the same car.  Finally, got the Xeon lights and back lights off.

IMG_4906.jpg

We enjoyed the show.  And the kids have their iPad to play with.  And then by the time the show finished, both kids are asleep in the car.

A White Color Car :(

Date:  Dec 17, 2011

OK.  You see lots of white car, i.e. especially "Pearl White" car on the road.  It is very slick indeed.  It is also good looking too.

IMG_2244.JPG

BUT..... I think, the air quality in Singapore getting bad.  Too many constructions and lots of sands in the air.  That is why, when it rains, you can see trails of "dirty" water stains on a white car.  Is it all the while being like that?  Or it is only obvious on a White color car?

IMG_2246.JPG

Bo-bian.  Face the consequences.  Wash the car regularily.  :(

IMG_2249.JPG

Oh yeah.  Just in case you were wondering, I do have a very hard working domestic worker.  But no, I will not ask her to wash my car or my wife's car.  Her job is simply to 1) Look after the kids, 2) Clean the house.  So, I never ask any of my domestic worker to wash our car.  :)

The Lousy Speakers That Come with the Car

Date:  Nov 11, 2011

I managed to dig out the car brochures that has a paragraph to describe the car audio system.

BLUETOOTH/USB PORT/MP3-CD COMPATIBLE PLAYER AND RADIO WITH REMOTE AUDIO CONTROL

Enjoy a surreal music experience with the MP3-CD (8 or 9-speaker) audio system within the 508's highly sound-insulated interior.  You can control playback and volume from your steering wheel with the remote audio control.

...

OK.  It was written very nicely.  But, let me show you what is the speaker looks like.  The speakers that come with the car.

This is the speaker from my car.  It has very plastic feel.

IMG_0863.jpg

Look at the back.  It is paper cone with a cloth covering it.

IMG_0864.jpg

Zoom in to the magnet.  Yes, there is this tiny little magnet there.

IMG_0868.jpg

The whole speaker I think weight less than 200g-300g.  Very light, and it feels like you can throw it just like a friesbee.  HaHaHaHaHa

And this is the high pitch (高音) speaker.  Again, very plastic feel.  Light.

IMG_0866.jpg

This is the back.  And of course it is made in China.

IMG_0867.jpg

So I spoke to Damian from Hong Guan where I purchased my Car Audio systems from. Hong Guan has beef up both my 307s.

Ken: "So, does it only happen to Peugeot cars only ?"

Damian: "No la!  Every car is like that!  They never ship good speakers or sound systems".

Ken: "Even expensive car?"

Damian: "Yes, Audi, BMW, etc all the same.  They always say their speaker and sound systems is good, and this is what you get".

Ken: "Really?"

Damian: "The only better sound systems and speakers is Volvo."

So, I ended up trade in all my older audio systems and speakers and upgrade the car audio systems without any doubt.

Because I think when you spend a lot of time on the road, and you really need a quiet environment, and very nice audio sound systems to play the music you like and keep your mind clear.  So, I end up installing the below...

IMG_0878.JPG

The highly recommended Alpine PXA-H800 INPRINT audio processor with in-Dash Controller.

IMG_0872.jpg

A nice capacitor to provide stable voltage.  3x Helix Competition Amplifiers.  The speakers are Helix competition speakers mix with McIntosh (old) speakers.

IMG_0874.jpg

And Kicker competition Subboxes.  Takes about 2 days to install.  And after the systems is in, I feel much better.  the sounds is much nicer than before.
