Both Jay and Kay are ready for their grading next Month after they come back from Chinese New Year.
Kay will go for his Red Tip grading (Currently Blue Belt).
Jay will go for his 2nd POOM belt. (Children black belt 2nd dan I think). 加油 加油！

There is no way Daddy can keep up and show him youtube of the pattern.
He has learned all the patterns from the classes.
Today is his second chapter internal grading day.
He has performed smooth pattern for both chapter 1 and 2.
And he has kick a lot of back thrust, side kicks during the sparring display.
And he has to strike 2 times to break this board.
Of course they won’t fail a kid who takes 2 strikes to break the board. hahahaha
And at the end of the grading, he proudly came out with his broken board, poom belt renewed with a green Chapter 3 stickers.
I just found out from another instructor that after he turned 15, he can go to the STF and convert his poom belt to black belt. No need to take any more test, simply fill in paper, and pay money, you can get all the poom belt changed to black belt.

Last month, Kay Kay was promoted to yellow belt.
On that day, he was picked to perform on stage.
Well, it is not exactly performing. Rather, they are having their class on the stage @ Millenia Walk.
JH Kim have a ultimate black belt challenge later. So, they bring the kids up stage and have lessons there.
Well, not all kids are picked. They did not pick Jay Jay.
So, Kay Kay was proud to be on stage.

When Kay Kay is on stage, you can see that he is very well behave.

He also kick very well when he is on stage. Of course, there are some audiences there too.
Here he performed the front kick.
Not too bad for a 5 year old.

You can see that he put in efforts in every kick.

Of course, they will learn their patterns there too.

I think the reason is we just change to iPhone6, and the backup are not done correctly and we might deleted some photos on that day.

Today is one of his happiest moment.

It is going to be very hard next time. look how many is receiving the 2nd poom belt in a batch.
I didn’t even know he has a signature style now. Wah...
The principal of JH Kim Taekwondo Institute Singapore is ready.
Kay Kay is also happy to be here. To witness what his brother going thru. The happiest moment.

One by one, name got called and student went up stage to change his/her belt.
It’s Jay Jay’s turn. Bow.

We are very proud of this kid.
From Teaguek 3 onwards, basically, he is on how own to learn the teakwondo patterns. It got too complicated and I can possibly babysit him, so, he has to learn by himself from the class and make sure every steps is correct. Every morning, while waiting for school bus, he will practise his Teaguek patterns.
And he finally made it.

Misc Thoughts & Comments:
1. Thank his LWPS’s friend, Justin Yoon for inspiring him to take teakwondo. He felt interest in K2 after hearing what Justin learn from taekwondo.
2. Our house rules are very strict! He cannot use teakwondo to bully people. He cannot simply any how use teakwondo to return a fight. Teakwondo is only for keep fit, and not for fighting. If I ever caught him do anything wrong with teakwondo, I said I will break his leg. hahahaha
3. I am glad the teakwondo teach him how to be polite to people. Always bow to people when greeting.
4. Of course, my wife has hidden agenda for him to learn teakwondo. She was hopping that by the time he does his reservist, he already gotten black belt and can be instructor in the reservist camp, instead of carrying guns to the field. hahaha
5. Oh ya. What does this poom belt means? At age of 15 years old, he can then convert this poom belt to black belt by going thru the same test, same pattern again. During now to 15 years old, if he gotten any 2nd poom, or 3rd poom belt, those can only be converted one by one in that same order. We didn’t know that. So, it is still a long time for him to get his “real” black belt.
6. Jay learned all his patterns from school and practice it very often on his own. He has the determination to get this poom belt. And he finally got it. We are so proud of him. Well done Jay Jay!
Jay Jay Taekwondo Essay

Last Sunday, was the first time for Kay Kay attend the Board Breaking Seminar.
I am surprise that they allow Kay Kay to join in the class. As you know, Kay Kay only a been promoted to yellow tip just last 2 weeks.
There are so many things that Kay Kay has not learn, but yet, he is going to perform these technic to try to break a board.
Of course, before the class, we have prepare him that…
“Not every one can break all the board."
“It does not matter if you break nothing."

This is where he learned how to do the jumping kick.
HaHaHa.. It is funny for him to learn this. But he managed to learn it well. HaHaHa.
As usual, Jay Jay is the first one who went up to break the board. HaHaHa.. He has attended so many times. This is his 3rd board breaking seminar.
And the first try, he did not manage to break it. HaHaHaHa.
The time has come. It is Kay Kay's turn.
And he has done it! Well done! Kay Kay.
He probably is the youngest in class. I think you look at Rivas’s expression, I think he did not think Kay can break it. hahaha
Jay Jay tried breaking 3 boards. And he has done it too. Well done!

Because he does not know how to do the weight transfer from his hip and movement, of course, Kay Kay cannot break this board.
The third one is the most difficult, which is breaking the board while jumping in the air.
