SG50 Madam Tussauds @ Singapore

Two years ago, I went to Bangkok’s Madam Tussauds.

I took these picture in Bangkok.

This year, I take this.  Still equally funny, but fun.

The kids were happy to revisit Madam Tussauds again.  This time, we visit the Singapore own Madam Tussauds.

Indonesian should know who is this guy.

SG50 National Day Observance

Date:  Aug 9, 2015

Today is Singapore’s 50th National Day!

Happy Birthday Singapore!

Early morning, we are heading to the National Day Observance event @ Teban Garden.  

We tried to ballot for the NDP, but we did not get it.  We got it in 2013.  I guess there are too many people balloting for it.

We are are on red top today.

Some friends ask me, “I thought you are Malaysian?"

Well, my wife has converted to be Singaporean for our children sake.

And both my sons are Singaporeans already.

One of the thing that I teach my son is “You have to love your country."

That is why as a father, I will have to go all the way to support the Singapore national day events, and make my sons to be as patriotic as possible.

After all, they are Singaporeans.

No point to teach them politics.  Just ask them to be a good Singaporean who love their countries.

When national day comes, there is no line drawn.  No PAP, no 反对党 (oppositions).  All is about loving your countries.

This is what they have to know today.

When they grew up, and when they become older, and they can think, then, they will think for themselves and they will make their own observations, and make own judgement which side they want to choose.

Quite cool they decorate their HDB like this.  At Teban Garden.

So many Singapore flags.  Must be here la.

A lot of people are here already.  The band is from Commonwealth Secondary School.

We don’t know what is National Day Observance.  

Oh…. oh….

It is a small parade.

There are uniform cadets marching, etc.

More and more people arriving.

Then, she put here hands on Jay’s shoulder, and ask her guys, “Let’s take a photo here!"

SG50 From Singapore to London in 64 days

Date:  Aug 9, 2015

He is Larry. 

Together with his daughter & wife, they are going to drive from Singapore to London in 64 days, across 15 countries.

In this Land Rover.

The 15 countries.  To London.  To celebrate SG50.

These are the 15 countries he is travelling.  Expected to reach London by Oct 14, 2015.

She is Lucy.  And she will be the only kid in this expedition.  

I think her dad “brain wash” her that she must keep the traditions on, and do the SG100 drive.  Then, she will be the only human being on Singapore soil that does the long expedition in both the Jubilee and double Jubilee (SG100).  

She is trained since young.  :)

 

50+ cars have come to see the Leong family off here.  These Land Rovers will form a convoy and escort the expedition car to Tuas.

This car I believe is quite old.  When I know Larry, he owns a couple of Land Rovers.  And at that time, may be 15 years ago, he already has this car.

Jay is trying to figure out the route.

 

And the lazy driver is in the driving seat.

Here is the we-fie.  It is amazing, that you can climb up and sit on the car roof just like that.  I think all the people who drive Land Rover like this.

Wait… there are fighter jets in the sky.  Everybody stopping to watch it.

And, here come the convoy.  I happened to be there by accident, and I shot the whole convoy.  This is 52 Land Rovers seeing Larry off towards the Tuas checkpoint.

Only Larry’s Land Rover to join other Malaysians in this 64 days expeditions.  Good luck in everything, and have fun!  See you in 3 months time.  (They are going to have a vacation in London too).
