Date: July 3, 2011
The original plan is to go to Marina Barrage to fly kite.
Unfortunately, no one is allowed to fly kite @ Marina Barrage between 5pm-7:30pm. Because there is the NDP rehearsal, and the helicopter with the flag will fly very low passing Marina Barrage.
Then, we suppose to play bubble gun, but my friend forgot to buy batteries.
Then, we suppose to eat at "The Storey", but we did not. Instead, we tabao (packed) the food from "the Storey" and decided to have a picnic at Marina Barrage.
But wait... NDP rehearsal??? Does that mean that we can see the Helicopters and Fireworks? That will be great for the kids...
When we arrived around 5pm, there are still quite some people flying the kites. So, we also took out our kites...
Mommy is busy assembling the kites...
Then, came the very rude NDP volunteers... "You don't know here cannot fly kite meh?" "You didn't see the notice we put at the entrance?" "only after 7:30pm can fly kite!"
The Tangs has arrived... And they are eating the corns we bought from Lim Chu Kang.
Justin was still sleeping...
Then, we started to take some great photos of the night...

Its really low flying for the flag helicopter... may be 100m about us...
It's 7:30pm, the announcement came... "You may fly your kite now"
We bought some kite lights (LED lights) and Kay Kay wants to fly the kite...
Its a lovely evening...
Argh... the lightsabers... The three jedi knights are practicing the light sabers...

Its 8pm, and the fireworks show started...

Its was fun.. and coincidently, that day was the NDP rehearsal day, that is why the kids can have so much fun, watching the helicopter, fighter jets, fireworks, fly kites, blow bubbles, etc etc. And the Tengs family also brought their dogs there to meet us for a while. A great day!
